The Resource Foundation's financial statements are independently audited annually by the accounting firm Maier, Markey and Justic, LLP. We are duly incorporated as a nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of New York, and have been classified as a tax-exempt entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations to The Resource Foundation are tax-exempt to the extent allowed by law.
The Resource Foundation requires transparency, efficiency, and financial accountability from its nonprofit partners. The Resource Foundation's due diligence procedures surpass all governing standards for international grantmaking. The process includes a comprehensive analysis of the proposed organization, budget, program, and more, as well as additional verification that the organization is legitimate and experienced.
In recognition of its organizational efficiency and sound fiscal management, Charity Navigator, the nation’s premier charity evaluator, has awarded The Resource Foundation its highest rating of four-stars for four consecutive years (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011). This is an honor that only 8% of rated charities receive.
